Héma-Québec is the only organization in Québec responsible for managing Québec’s blood bank. The challenge is to maintain the collective blood supply at an adequate level in order to meet patient needs.

We must constantly seek out, design and adopt efficient means for attaining our goals for whole blood and blood component collection, thereby ensuring an adequate supply for hospitals and their patients. We do everything possible to provide donors with accessible services and a variety of opportunities to donate. We welcome donors at various collection locations:

• Blood drives
• GLOBULE Blood Donor Centres
• GLOBULE Mobile Blood Donation Unit

The GLOBULE Blood Donor Centres are permanent centres specially designed to facilitate blood donation. Their opening hours are adapted to donor availability and they offer donors the option of making an appointment. Open seven days a week, these centres welcome you in a warm and friendly environment on a continuous basis.

Moreover, we are able to accommodate donors who are not accessible through traditional blood collection means. The GLOBULE Mobile Blood Donation Unit is used to accommodate donors in industrial parks, shopping centres and power centres; to support a blood drive where the available space is not sufficient to handle all of the expected donors; and to help out with blood drives where there are more donors than expected.

Patients require blood on a daily basis. It is important, therefore, that healthy people take some time to share their most precious gift—their blood.
