R&D Donors

Have you been excluded from donating blood, temporarily or permanently, because of an unfulfilled donor qualification criterion?

You are not an active blood donor, but you would like to contribute to research advances in the field of blood?

If you are in one of these situations, you could help us improve the quality of blood components given to patients and the efficacy of services offered to the hospitals and to the Quebec population.

If you are at least 18 years of age, in good health, and not an active blood donor, you could enter your name in the R&D Donor Registry. This registry is made up of names of individuals who have been excluded from donating or who cannot give blood anymore because of unfulfilled qualification criteria, or who do not want to give blood but nonetheless wish to contribute to the improvement of the quality and efficacy of services offered by Héma-Québec. By registering, you might be invited to participate in one of our research and development projects. By doing so, you will contribute to the improvement of the Quebec blood system.

We are constantly seeking individuals willing to participate, on a voluntary basis, in our research and development projects. Notably, registration to the R&D Donor Registry does not imply that your participation will be mandatory. In addition, you have the option of withdrawing from the Registry at any time, by simple verbal notice. Finally, each registration request is handled confidentially.

For more information, or to register to the R&D Donor Registry, please consult the brochure or contact the R&D Sample Collection Coordinator, at 418-780-4362, ext. 3256, or toll-free 1-800-267-9711, ext. 3256. Please note that this program preferably seeks individuals from the Montreal and Quebec City areas.
