Learn all about immunohematology

The online theoretical component of Hema-Quebec's immunohematology training program is geared primarly towards laboratory technicians working in hospital blood banks.

There are many advantages to online courses. In addition to saving time and money, participants can learn at their own pace, based on their availability and in their own environment.

The portion of the course offered online comprises 17 specific units, including PowerPoint presentations, videos, complementary information and numerous references. The participants can ask questions and receive answers live (during pre-determined periods).

Once the theory has been acquired, participants may complete their training with practical workshops held over two-days at the Héma-Québec facility located on the Université Laval campus. A travel expense reimbursement program* is offered for these workshops. (*QC resident only)

The 20 hours of training offered for Level 1 of the immunohematology course are recognized by the Ordre professionnel des technologistes médicaux du Québec and also by the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Sciences. This program receives financial support from Héma-Québec Foundation and Grifols.
