    HÉMA-QUÉBEC inaugurated its new laboratories at 4045 Côte-Vertu Boulevard in Montréal, in the borough of Saint-Laurent, before almost 400 guests. After two years of preparation, the new facilities, which are equipped with cutting-edge technology, are now fully operational. Ministers Nicole Léger and Stéphane Dion were on hand to highlight this event and pay tribute to all HÉMA-QUÉBEC employees.

    HÉMA-QUÉBEC is proud to announce that for its last blood drive of the summer campaign, hosted by the Alouettes football team of Montréal, almost 75,000 Quebeckers gave the gift of life, with 5,402 people giving blood for the first time. Between June 10 and September 8, 2002, a crucial period for maintaining blood reserve levels, HÉMA-QUÉBEC organized 459 clinics throughout Québec.

    In the past six months, close to 10,000 blood donors have come to roll up their sleeves at Globule, the new blood donor centre located at the Place Versailles shopping mall. Many first-time donors have visited Globule since it opened on October 29. The verdict is unanimous: this new blood clinic concept has been a great success.
