Health Canada: Héma-Québec’s Montréal facility and Laval Blood Donor Centre pass inspection

Montréal, January 30, 2012 Héma-Québec’s Montréal facility and Laval GLOBULE Blood Donor Centre have successfully passed annual inspection. Health Canada has therefore renewed the Establishment Licence of each facility. This annual audit process ran from November  21 to 25, 2012.

Observations without major impact on product safety were issued by inspectors. Corrective measures have already been made or are about to be taken.

These results reflect once again that Héma-Québec meet the strictest standards and security measures and demonstrates that blood product, stem cells and human tissues safety is a constant priority.

Health Canada audits are designed to ensure compliance with safety measures and with the requirements stipulated in its operating licence. Inspections are conducted every year at Héma-Québec’s Montréal and Québec facilities, and the three GLOBULE Blood Donor Centres are closely examined every two years.
