National Blood Donor Week – Blood needs won’t be taking a vacation this summer

Montréal, June 13, 2016—Héma-Québec is taking advantage of National Blood Donor Week, being held from June 13 to 19, to recognize the invaluable contribution of the 160,000 or so donors and 16,000 or so volunteers who share their health and their time to save lives.

Year after year, their generous contribution allows for close to 500,000 blood products to be delivered to Québec hospitals, transforming the lives of those receiving them. On behalf of the patients, Héma-Québec salutes their ongoing commitment to the cause of blood donation and thanks them for helping it fulfil its mission!

Summer campaign

In anticipation of the summer holidays and because blood needs don’t take a vacation, Héma-Québec must adapt its supply strategies. Its summer campaign is among these strategies, and what better occasion than National Blood Donor Week to unveil its content and ambassadors!

Héma-Québec is therefore pleased to announce that Marie-Pier Morin and Brandon Prust, Anthony Jackson-Hamel, Patrice Bernier et Wandrille Lefèvre, players of the Montréal Impact, and Émile Proulx-Cloutier along with his father, Raymond Cloutier, will be promoting the cause of blood donation all summer long by encouraging the public to give blood as a couple, group or family.

The campaign will be featured on billboards, in newspapers, on the Internet, on social media and on the radio.

What’s more, citizens of Trois-Rivières, Saguenay, Sherbrooke and Gatineau, where PLASMAVIE Plasma Donor Lounges are located, will discover a new aspect of Héma-Québec’s visual signature, with some ambassadors sporting a yellow shirt specially designed to promote plasma donation.
