Operations
The blood products operations sector includes the employees who are responsible for:
- recruiting donors;
- planning blood drives with the community;
- qualifying the blood products collected;
- transforming blood into labile blood products;
- distributing these products; and
- relations with the hospitals.
Finally, jobs in the field of building maintenance are also part of this sector.
The stem cells, human tissues and reference laboratory operations sector is responsible for the Stem Cell Donor Registry as well as the reference and stem cell laboratory, which provides specialized products and analytical services to the hospitals. The Public Cord Blood Bank also comes under the jurisdiction of this team.
The human tissues sector is responsible for raising awareness with respect to giving human tissues and recruiting human tissue donors, as well as recovering, processing and distributing grafts to the hospitals.
