Cord blood collection centres

Support and training are offered to partners hospitals for the Héma-Québec Public Cord Blood Bank. For immediate access to the information you require, click on the following sub-sections:

Héma-Québec's Public Cord Blood Bank has existed since 2004. Its mission is to make hematopoietic stem cells from umbilical cord blood a diversified collective resource, and to provide a supply of optimal quality corresponding to the needs of patients waiting for a stem cell transplant in Quebec or elsewhere in the world.

Héma-Québec carries out actions to support recruitment, such as digital advertising and field activation. While Héma-Québec handles the registration and qualification of donors, the collection itself is carried out through partner hospitals. Once the samples are received, Héma-Québec takes charge of the processing, analysis, and cryopreservation of the cord blood units.
