Reference and Stem Cell Laboratory
The Reference and Stem Cell Laboratory (RSCL) offers specialized erythrocyte and leuco-platelet immunology testing services for potential recipients.
The stem cell laboratory is responsible for the qualification, processing and cryopreservation of cord blood units and autologous peripheral stem cells.
The reference laboratory includes, among others, a leuco-platelet immunology laboratory that provides HLA typing services for:
- patients awaiting a stem cell transplant;
- cord blood units; and
- related and unrelated stem cell donors.
