Who can donate mother's milk?

Do you have the right profile?

Mothers who wish to donate milk must:

  • be in good health;
  • have a baby who is not older than 12 months;
  • be nursing and able to produce surplus milk;
  • be non-smokers;
  • live in a municipality of the Montreal Metropolitan Community (including Saint-Jérôme and Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu) or the Québec Metropolitan Community (including Laurier-Station, Saint-Basile, Saint-Apollinaire, Neuville, Pont-Rouge and Donnacona);
  • or reside within a one-hour drive from the following drop-off points: 
    • PLASMAVIE Gatineau: 205, rue Bellehumeur, local 80, Gatineau (Québec)  J8T 8H3,
    • PLASMAVIE Sherbrooke: 3200, rue King Ouest, local A-170, Sherbrooke (Québec)  J1L 1C9,
    • PLASMAVIE Saguenay: 2096, boulevard Talbot, Chicoutimi (Québec)  G7H 8B5.

Women who give birth in one of the following partner hospital centers can register with the Public Mothers' Milk Bank at the same time as they register with the Public Cord Blood Bank:

  • Centre hospitalier St. Mary
  • Centre universitaire de santé McGill (site Glen)
  • Hôpital de la Cité-de-la-santé de Laval
  • Centre hospitalier de l'Université Laval (CHUL)
  • Centre hospitalier de LaSalle
  • Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Montréal
  • Hôpital général du Lakeshore
  • CHU mère-enfant Sainte-Justine
  • Hôpital général juif
