Other ways to help
You can share the gift of life in many ways:
- By becoming a volunteer: Help at blood drives or even organize one
- By becoming an ambassador: Raise awareness among those close to you or encourage colleagues to get involved
- If you are 18 to 35 years of age, you can sign up for the Stem Cell Donor Registry
- By signing your health insurance card to consent to human tissue donation
- By making a financial donation to the Héma-Québec Foundation
- If you live in the Québec City area, by giving blood to advance research
Note: While transitioning to gender-neutral donation qualification questionnaires for all blood products, Héma-Québec has also begun working on plans to improve its registration processes by making them more inclusive for trans and non-binary individuals, always without compromising security. We are working in close collaboration with research professionals at UQAM to consult LGBTQ+ communities in order to improve the blood donation experience for trans and non-binary individuals.
