Board of Directors
Héma-Québec’s Board of Directors is composed of administrators from various sectors representing the product manufacture and distribution chain, from the donor to the recipient.
With a master’s degree in the humanities and social sciences from UQAM and certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), Martine Carré has principally worked in the health sector, first as a clinician and then an administrator. For more than 15 years, she has made her expertise available by serving as a director for various corporations. She also handles professional management mandates.
In particular, she served as the Chair of the Leucan Board of Directors for three years, chaired the governance human resources committees, and served on the audit committee of that organization until May 2014. She oversaw a major overhaul of the administrative structures and governance rules of this prominent charitable organization.
In recent years, she has also contributed to the implementation of several private investments as a shareholder in Québec start-up companies.
Martine Carré has been the Chair of the Héma-Québec Board of Directors since January 10, 2013 and has served on the Board since December 2007, as the recipients’ representative. Under her leadership as chair, the organisation’s mission and mandate were expanded to include any biological product of human origin, including mother’s milk.
She complements her management activities with her involvement in causes pertaining to the environment, particularly as a member of the environmental advisory committee for a municipality in the Laurentides region.
