Since opening its doors three years ago, the PLASMAVIE Donor Lounge in Gatineau had been recording a steady growth in activities, until last spring's floods intervened. After posting an annual growth rate of almost 18% in 2018, the centre's team now faces a decrease in the number of donors.

Health Canada has responded favorably to requests submitted by Héma-Québec and the Canadian Blood Services and reduced the temporary exclusion period for donating blood for man who had sex with a man (MSM).
